Lance Strate is Professor of Communication at Fordham University in New York City, the founder and past president of Media Ecology Association, past president of the New York State Communication Association, trustee and former executive director of the Institute of General Semantics, and president of the New York Society for General Semantics. He is the author of Echoes and Reflections: On Media Ecology as a Field of Study; On the Binding Biases of Time and Other Essays on General Semantics and Media Ecology;Amazing Ourselves to Death: Neil Postman's Brave New World Revisited, and the poetry collection Thunder at Darwin Station, as well as the co-editor of several anthologies, including The Legacy of McLuhan; The Medium is the Muse: Channeling Marshall McLuhan; and two editions of Communication and Cyberspace: Social Interaction in an Electronic Environment. An original collection of his essays entitled McLuhan and Media Ecology is being published by Henan University Press.
